The Energy Efficiency Assistance Program provides energy efficiency upgrades to the homes of low-income DTE customers in the form of appliances – such as furnaces, central air units, refrigerators, water heaters and more – and other housing upgrades, including roof repairs and asbestos removal. It connects low-income residents with life-changing home improvements that save money and reduce energy usage. Global Detroit is seeking a skilled, organized and enthusiastic team member to advance this work as our EEA Program Manager. Upon hire, the EEA Program Manager will manage an energy assistance program, working with residents, contractors and controllers of the program.

Upon hire, the EEA Program Manager will manage an energy assistance program, working with residents, contractors and controllers of the program.

Responsibilities

The EEA Program Manager will oversee the complete implementation of the program including client recruitment, dispatching our contractor, procuring invoice documents and gathering client feedback.

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Energy Efficiency Assistance program
  2. Work with the Global Detroit team to conduct outreach to a diverse community with varying levels of English proficiency and digital literacy over phone, email and Microsoft Teams
  3. Provide customer service and as-needed case management for approximately 30-40 residents at once who are enrolled in this program
  4. Coordinate with and manage third-party HVAC contractor to ensure project completion of projects and accurate documentation
  5. Track projects and maintain a database of active and completed activities in Notion (web-based project management and collaboration) platform, maintaining detailed records for each client
  6. Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current and properly filed
  7. Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings and partner check-ins
  8. Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures
Required Skills and Experience

To fulfill this role successfully, we are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Experience with Google Suite programs, especially Gmail and Google Drive
  • Culturally competent across racial and socioeconomic lines as well as demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of people
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service for under-resourced families
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and function independently
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with construction project management, logistics and/or similar record-keeping
  • Passionate about and understanding of neighborhood development, urban planning and community engagement within under resourced communities of color and immigrants
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience
  • Ability to speak Bengali or Arabic preferred, but not required
Salary and Benefits

This position is a full- time (40 hours/week) salaried position. January 31, 2023 is the desired start date. Salary will range between $45,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Global Detroit offers a competitive benefits package.

The Global Detroit team is currently working remotely, but this position will ultimately be based in Detroit, with the option for hybrid hours (partial office time, partial remote).
